John Sanborn is an educator, hiker and lifelong outdoor enthusiast. A veteran  with more than 50 years of experience in hiking the Rockies, John has conquered nine of Colorado's fourteeners but rates Webster Pass as his favorite hike in Summit County.

Presently, John is the principal of Chapman Middle School where he has coached and taught since 1963. He and his wife Jo, spend much of their leisure time at their condo in Buffalo Village enjoying the matchless beauty of Summit County. Surely, like all Summit County Explorers, our winner is one who "Likes to Be on TopTM"!!
